Q: What is seem to be the problem with my ford focus when it start running 60 mph it wiggles?
It happened few days ago I noticed when my speed is only between 40 to 50 mph it is ok. When it goes to 55-60 mph it wiggles hard and when it goes to 65 -70 it lessens the wiggles. Please help. The car is a Ford Focus 2008. Thanks

I'm looking into buying a 2003 Ford Focus with 93K miles. It appears to have pretty good mpg and safety ratings, but I can't find its average lifespan in terms of miles. I'm a junior in high school and I need this car to last me until I graduate college with an average of 6K miles driven per year. Can anyone tell me if it will?
A: it depends if the prior owner maintained it properly. regular oil changes are critical. have a friend that knows about cars look it over before you buy it. 93K is alot of miles and alot can go wrong with a car that has that many miles on it.
Q: Why does my Ford Focus AC cool sometimes and other times it does not?
My 02 Ford Focus has really cold AC sometimes but othertimes not. Sometimes it depends on where it was sitting before I drive. For instance when parked under a car port in in aparking garage where it is not under direct sun, the AC starts and remains cold. When parked in the sun, the AC does not ever get cold. What could cause this?

Q: Can I tow a travel trailer with my Ford Focus?
I'm planning on buying a folding tent trailer. They weigh about 1400lbs - 1900lbs for the size I want (8ft or 10ft). My Ford Focus can tow 1000lbs accord. to the guide. I was wondering if I might hurt the car if I towed the trailer just a few times to get it to my destination for the summer and then back home (about 3 hours driving hwy). I would drive slow and steady. Would this hurt the car?? I'm getting a bigger car with more towing capacity at the end of the summer but until then I wonder if the Focus can handle it and not cause any damage?
A: There are a number of important points firstly you must have a license that allows you to tow a trailer above a certain weight / size. The permitted weight is different if the trailer is braked.
The trailer weight must not exceed the kerb weight of the vehicle. You will have seen what occurs when the tail wags the dog the trailer swings the car from the back it can turn the car over in extreme cases.
Finally it does not matter how careful you are you only need a lorry or coach to pass you and the trailer can swing out due to the bow wave. You are only as safe as the worst driver on the road
I good guide is about a trailer maximum is 75% of the vehicles kerb weight.

I have an aftermarket remote key less system in my 2004 Ford Focus Wagon. I can't start it with the key (only the remote starter works) and the LED light on the dash keep flashing. I have tried shutting and opening the doors with the key instead of the remote but the light keeps flashing. How can I disable the alarm system>
A: i would try unhooking the battery cables, killing the power may reset the system.
Q: Why does my Ford Focus stall after I fill it up with gas?
I bought a 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 less then two weeks ago and every time I add gas to the car it ends up sputtering and briefly stalls as I pull out of the gas station, unless I immediately press down the gas pedal and rev the engine in order to avoid it . It starts up immediately afterwards and doesn't do it under any other circumstances. Does anyone know what this could be caused by? I do not top off the gas.

2002 ford focus se sedan, just want to stop the beeping when I open the door with the keys in ther ignition. Having it chime when I leave the lights on would be handy.
A: Oh har har, take the keys out of the ignition. Stupid answer even despite the fact it violates his question. Factor that in and it's totally useless. You can probably take fuse number 42 out and that'll work. My apologies for fellow yahoo answerers, some are slow and try to compensate.
Q: How do I remove vacuum lines on Ford Focus?
I have a 2000 Ford Focus LE with 2.0L DOHC engine. How do I remove the vacuum lines running to the EVAP Canister Purge Valve on the firewall? They are held on with a plastic locking collar but I don't know how to get them off without breaking them.

The 1998-2005 model came with:
Petrol:
1.4 and 1.6 Zetec S
1.8 and 2.0 Zetec E
Uprated versions of the 2.0 (in the Focus ST170 and RS)
Diesel:
1.8 TDDi (up to late 2001)
1.8 TDCi (thereafter)
The 2005 on model comes with:
Petrol:
1.6 Zetec S (same engine as before but now normally called Duratec 16v)
1.6 TI-VCT (same engine as above but with variable valve timing, giving it an extra 15bhp)
1.8 and 2.0 Duratec HE
2.5 5 cyl (in the Focus ST)
Diesel:

i have a 2001 ford focus that i recently change the oil, spark plug, cables, and plus i flush the transmission. My car has 91,000 miles only and some people say it can be the idle or the timing belt. my car stall when im stuck in traffic and sometime in stoplight, but it turn right back on. what can be the problem.
A: If the check engine light is not on, then it is not one of the monitored sensors. Many of the early Focus models had fuel pump problems. That would be my suspicion.
BTW, since you're approaching 100,000 miles, you should have the timing belt replaced soon. Around $200, depending on the labor rate in your area.

Q: Where can I get fuel line retaining clips for a 2005 Ford Focus?
I damaged one of the stock clips while changing the fuel filter on my girlfriend's car. I thought "no problem" the new filter usually comes with new ones, but the replacement clips do not fit. I need these specific clips because they are shorter and skinnier than the replacement clips. I've even tried getting some smaller clips, but they do not work. Also, none of the autopart stores nearby carry clips that are remotely similar to these.
Is this a common problem with the focus? Will a ford dealer be able to accomodate me?
A: Yes, the only place to get these is at a Ford dealership and I am sure they have them in stock.

A: handle the bulb carefully.. preferably with gloves. Don't touch the glass.. handle it by the plastic bit. Don't scratch it either. If you do, it can shatter. Look at your owner's manual.. it should have detailed instructions.
